The pastoral ministry department (CMI) is celebrating 40 years of ministry at Medical City Dallas Hospital!
Following an airplane crash in 1977 that resulted in the hospitalization of her son, Don Carter, Mary Crowley (Home Interiors and Design) recognized the need for hospital chaplains to be available to pray and support patients and their families during times of crisis. She funded what is now the Mary Crowley Chapel in our hospital lobby and the formation of Chaplaincy Ministries, Inc.
CMI was formally incorporated in 1982.
It has been the privilege of this ministry to honor Mary’s desire for chaplains to “be there” for people during their times of need. The continuing friendship, encouragement and financial support of people like yourself make this possible. Through you, thousands of lives have been touched and influenced over forty years of ministry.
